I am sharing a frequently cooked lunch/dinner recipe in my kitchen Cabbage (Patta Ghobhi) Aloo Fry. This delicious fry vegetable side dish is easy to make and loved by all my family members.
This delicious Patta Gobhi Fry vegetable is made with chopped cabbage, potatoes, onions and tomatoes(optional). Along with the cabbage you can additionally use bell peppers, carrots, beans, brocolli as well.
You can relish this delicious vegetable side dish with hot steamed jeera rice or any type of Indian breads like parathas, rotis and also goes well in sandwiches and wraps.

Onion 1 (chopped into long pieces)
Garlic (1-2 cloves – smashed)
1/2 -1 medium sized Cabbage (chopped)
1 chopped Tomato (optional)
Turmeric Powder 1 tbsp
Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Curry Masala 2-3 tbsp
Oil – 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1 small tbsp
Red chilli’s -1 – broken into 2 to 3 small pieces
Finely chopped Coriander leaves for garnish
Step1: Preparation for the fry vegetable
Wash and drain thoroughly the cabbage, potatoes and other vegetables if any. Julienne/shred the cabbage, chop the potatoes and keep them aside. I have used a food processor to shred the cabbage.
Step2: Saute the vegetables
Add 2tbsp of olive oil to a deep bottomed frying pan. Fry the chopped onions till they are golden brown.Then add green chillis, chopped/crushed garlic cloves and fry them for another 2-3 mins. Add all the veggies like chopped cabbage, chopped potatoes etc and fry all of them and cover the pot. After 3-4 mins of cooking, uncover the lid and Add your favorite masala’s i.e turmeric powder, cumin seeds, red chilli powder and any vegetable/curry Masala powder and begin to stir fry on highest flame and cover with the lid. Keep mixing in regular intervals till the cabbage & potatoes are properly cooked. Ensure that the vegetables do not stick to the bottom of the pot and are not overcooked.
Step3: Serve the Cabbage Stir Fry
Transfer the cabbage stir fry to a serving bowl. Garnish it with coriander leaves. You can serve this as a side dish with wraps, steamed rice or parathas. Do prepare this recipe and enjoy with your loved ones.
